(CABA) En un nuevo gesto a los integrantes de las fuerzas de seguridad, el Gobierno lanza un organismo para defender los derechos humanos de la policía. Se trata de la Unidad de Garantías de Derechos Humanos, que funcionará bajo la órbita del ministerio de Seguridad encabezado por Patricia Bullrich.
El Gobierno muestra así otra señal de respaldo a la policía, después de disponer el protocolo que habilita a disparar contra sospechosos en fuga y la compra de pistolas Taser de descarga eléctrica, entre otras medidas. La creación de la oficina se produce además en un año electoral, en el que el Ejecutivo refuerza su estrategia de colocar a la seguridad en el centro de la campaña.

El lanzamiento de la dependencia se dispuso a partir de la Resolución 234/2019 publicada en el Boletín Oficial, firmada por Bullrich. Entre los arugmentos están “garantizar plenamente la protección de los derechos humanos de los efectivos de las citadas Fuerzas Policiales y de Seguridad Federales”.
La funcionaria dijo que los derechos humanos “son para todos los ciudadanos” y advirtió que hasta el momento “las fuerzas de seguridad estaban excluidas“. “Debían ser garantes de la ciudadanía, algo que son, pero no eran concebidas como sujetos de este derecho”, afirmó.
Bullrich habló de un “concepto inclusivo, una concepción que integra un derecho a un colectivo que estaba excluido” de estos derechos, dijo la ministra en una entrevista al diario La Nación.

Entre las funciones del organismo están el análisis de las “fortalezas y debilidades de la normativa relativa a la protección de los derechos humanos” de los policías y fuerzas federales.
También la contribución al fortalecimiento de “la cultura del respeto y el ejercicio de los Derechos Humanos a través de la formación, promoción y difusión de los derechos humanos en las distintas etapas de formación y capacitación” de los integrantes de las diversas fuerzas.
La resolución aclara que le creación de este organismo “no genera erogación presupuestaria adicional alguna al Estado nacional”, en momento de crisis económica y ajuste de gastos en las cuentas públicas. NR
