La Junta de Estudios Históricos del Caballito cumpló 43 años. El marco es propicio para invitar a quienes quieran acercarse. Las reuniones tienen lugar el segundo jueves de cada mes a las 19 hs. en la Asociación Alvear, Avellaneda 542.
Sobre sus inicios
Todo comenzó al término de un Congreso de Historia de la Ciudad celebrado en 1975 en el Teatro San Martín, oportunidad en la que se encontraron Graciela Pérez Villamil, Fernando Bastide y Aquilino González Podestá, presentados por el Arq. Luis Martín, presidente del Ateneo de Estudios Históricos del Parque de los Patricios. En dicha entidad participaba Aquilino González Podestá, quién muchas veces se cuestionaba: “¿Por qué mi barrio no puede tener su propia Junta?”. El presidente de Parque Patricios convocó a Aquilino, Fernando y Graciela y comenzó a incentivarlos para que concretaran su propósito, guiándolos hasta la concreción final de la idea llevada a cabo en una ceremonia en los salones del Club Ferro Carril Oeste en la tarde del 21 de abril de 1976.
“Más de cuatro décadas de labor, con períodos de éxitos seguidos de algunos de decadencia hasta reflorecer y lograr un resurgimiento nos ha llevado a la altura que aquellos fundadores habían soñado. Es más que justo reconocer el apoyo incondicional recibido de la Asociación de Fomento y Biblioteca Popular “General Alvear”, que desinteresadamente brinda su espacio para el desarrollo de todas nuestras actividades. Así pues, esta presidencia considera un deber ineludible hacer llegar a cada uno de sus miembros y a nuestra anfitriona el más sincero agradecimiento por la colaboración prestada.” Así se expresaba el actual presidente de la Junta de Estudios Históricos del Caballito, Aquilino González Podestá.
