La boxeadora iraní Sadaf Khadem ganó su primer combate de boxeo oficial, disputado este sábado en Francia contra la local Anne Chauvin. Ante 1.500 espectadores, la joven de 24 años que trabaja como profesora de fitness en Teherán atacó a su rival sin descanso durante los tres asaltos de dos minutos cada uno en los que estaba pactada la pelea.
Los jueces dieron la victoria por unanimidad a Sadaf, todo un símbolo para quien se convierte, según declaró su entrenador, el ex campeón del mundo franco-iraní Mahyar Monshipour, en “la primera iraní de la historia en realizar un combate oficial”.
Sin embargo, tras esta exitosa performance, Khadem y su entrenador recibieron una mala noticia. En Irán se emitió una orden de arrestos para ambos, según fue informado Monshipour por mensaje de texto. La púgil está acusada de violar la ley iraní que exige que las mujeres lleven el hijab, y su entrenador de complicidad, según le informaron a la AFP.
En estas condiciones, ambos han decidido no regresar a Irán y por el momento seguirán en Poitiers, Francia. Hasta el momento, las autoridades del país europeo no se han mencionado al respecto.
“He ganado por las mujeres y tengo que ser fuerte siempre para ganar por las mujeres”, había declarado Khadem tras la pelea. “Dedico esta victoria a todos los hombres y mujeres que han dado su vida por mi país, un millón de muertos. Las mujeres pueden franquear montañas si quieren”, añadió.
El Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI) amenazó a Irán con excluir de los Juegos Olímpicos sus equipos masculinos si no permitía la participación de las mujeres en estas disciplinas.
