(CABA) Durante todos los sábados y domingos de 10 a 17 hs, el Instituto de Zoonosis Luis Pasteur, dependiente del Ministerio de Salud del Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, lleva a cabo la Campaña de vacunación antirrábica gratuita para perros y gatos con postas de vacunación que rotan por todo el ámbito de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires en los meses de abril, mayo y junio.

La Rabia es una Zoonosis de origen viral, que necesita del contacto directo con un animal que elimine virus por saliva. En la Ciudad perros, gatos y murciélagos pueden transmitir el virus a otros animales y al ser humano. La Rabia en animales domésticos (perros y gatos) está controlada en la CABA desde 1981.
La Rabia puede llegar a ser mortal si no es tratada a tiempo. Es por ello que la consulta temprana es la única forma de realizar su prevención en el ser humano.
Las personas deben ser atendidas lo antes posible. En la Ciudad de Buenos Aires deberán dirigirse únicamente al área de Profilaxis rábica del Hospital Durand en el Pabellón Romano, Diaz Velez 5044.

El tratamiento puede abarcar la observación del animal, tratamientos con vacuna y suero. Si bien la consulta médica es imprescindible, la ubicación segura del animal agresor es de suma importancia para su observación. lo que en muchos casos reduce la cantidad de vacunas a aplicar.
En el Instituto de Zoonosis L. Pasteur Díaz Vélez 4821 se vacunan contra la Rabia gratuitamente todos los días del año, de lunes a domingos, de 8 a 17hs.
Una tenencia responsable, con vacunación anual antirrábica, a partir de los 3 meses de edad y durante toda la vida de nuestras mascotas, el paseo controlado con collar y correa, evitando contacto con animales desconocidos y consultando a un profesional en caso de que sea mordido por otro animal, hacen de la Rabia una Zoonosis controlable.
