
El miércoles 12 de junio fue presentado en el Patio de los Lecheros, (Donato Alvarez y Bacacay), el programa Turismo en Barrios, que involucra 48 circuitos y más de 500 atractivos. El objetivo es fomentar esta actividad en lugares de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires no tradicionales para los visitantes.

El acto fue encabezado por el jefe de Gobierno, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, acompañado por el presidente del Ente de Turismo porteño, Gonzalo Robredo, quien señaló que esta iniciativa es parte del plan para llegar este año al récord histórico de 3.000.000 de turistas en la Ciudad.
Estuvo presente el presidente de la Junta Comunal de Caballito, Hipólito Forno, representantes de diferentes instituciones del barrio y gran cantidad de vecinos.
Sobre el frente del Patio de los Lecheros, en la avenida Donato Álvarez, el destacado muralista Martín Ron plasmó una imagen del Tranvía Histórico de Caballito, realizado en base a cientos de mosaicos con la reproducción de casi 2.500 fotos suministradas por vecinos del barrio.
Siempre con el objetivo de potenciar la actividad turística, comenzó una campaña de concientización para que los vecinos y comerciantes puedan recibir al viajero de la mejor forma, generando una experiencia mutua, positiva y enriquecedora.
La ciudad de Buenos Aires es uno de los principales destinos turísticos de América Latina, por eso se promueve el crecimiento de este sector económico. Además de los 2.700.000 turistas que llegaron en 2018, la Ciudad recibió durante enero y marzo de 2019 a 580.000 personas, un 18% más que en el mismo período de 2018.

El jefe de gobierno, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta presentó el Programa Turismo en los Barrios en el Patio de los Lecheros.

Durante el evento se inauguró un mural de grandes dimensiones realizado con miles de pequeñas fotos.
