De acuerdo a la denuncia que hizo Natalia primero en la Comisaría de la Mujer y después en la Fiscalía de esa localidad, la atendió un médico de guardia que le pidió unos estudios y le dio un nuevo turno para volver a controlarla unos días después. Según la acusación, en esa segunda visita, sin embargo, el doctor no la revisó en el mismo consultorio sino que la llevó a una sala apartada y vacía dentro del hospital.
Esa primera situación ya le había llamado la atención pero no hizo preguntas. En medio de la consulta ella aprovechó para consultarle si podía recomendarle algún especialista de rodillas por otro problema que tenía y él se ofreció a revisarla. Le pidió que se bajara los pantalones y se acostara en la camilla y ella obedeció sin desconfiar, pero se equivocó.
