(CABA) Las usuarias de BA Taxi podrán elegir a mujeres como conductoras en la aplicación, informó el gobierno porteño, que incorporó a 2000 mujeres taxistas para este año.
El secretario de Transporte de la Ciudad, Juan José Méndez, aseguró que esta opción “ofrece una oportunidad real a mujeres que buscan independizarse y ser autónomas“.
“Queremos acompañar este proceso de igualdad y otorgar una herramienta de seguridad para las pasajeras”, dijo el funcionario y agregó: “Creamos un filtro exclusivo en la aplicación BA Taxi para que las usuarias puedan tener la opción de elegir una conductora“.

Esta opción está disponible sólo para usuarias mujeres: tanto para las pasajeras que quieran sentirse seguras a la hora de pedir un taxi como para las conductoras.
En caso de que la aplicación no detecte conductoras en las cercanías le consultará a la pasajera si quiere realizar el viaje con un chofer varón.
Para sumar mujeres a trabajar en los taxis la Secretaría de Transporte lanzó en agosto de 2018 una convocatoria para incorporar conductoras y desde entonces se sumaron 1965 mujeres, de un total de 39.800 conductores de taxis.
En tanto, este jueves se sumaron 27 mujeres taxistas más, que egresaron de los cursos que comenzaron en marzo.
El gremio, en contra
Desde el gremio taxis de la Ciudad se opusieron a la implementación del filtro para elegir mujeres como conductoras en la aplicación BA Taxi al calificar que se trata de una medida “discriminatoria”.
