El sábado 22 de junio tuvo lugar una nueva Visita Guiada al Centro Cultural Sureda, ubicado en la tradicional casona de Rosario 250, frente al Parque Rivadavia.
El evento comenzó con la proyección de un breve audiovisual a cargo de Marina Bussio, directora del Horizonte y miembro de la Junta de Estudios Históricos del Caballito, en el que se explicó la historia del lugar; de la familia Sureda, sus primeros propietarios; el Centro Cultural y sus actuales actividades.
Luego de la charla, los presentes, cámara en mano para registrar cada uno de los rincones, muebles originales y detalles ocultos; recorrieron las instalaciones, acompañados por Lucía Ferraris, directora del Centro Cultural Sureda. Se visitó todo el interior, los jardines, que llegan hasta el centro de la manzana, el sector de servicio que cuenta con una cocina original, el primer nivel y la terraza, desde donde puede observarse una vista privilegiada del Parque Rivadavia. La torre mirador, que puede verse desde la calle, donde se aprecia una imagen de la Virgen en su ventana que fue totalmente restaurada, sin perder su valor y belleza original, la capilla, recientemente remodelada, las habitaciones y cada uno de los rincones y objetos que forman parte de esta casona que integra el patrimonio histórico y cultural del barrio de Caballito.
La casa data del año 1922, es anterior al Parque Rivadavia, perteneció siempre a la misma familia. El grupo familiar estaba constituido por el matrimonio Sureda y sus tres hijas.
Con el transcurrir del tiempo solo quedó Mercedes, la hija del medio, quien en pleno uso de sus facultades y tal cual fue la voluntad de la familia, donó la propiedad a la Asociación Civil ICIED para que el predio se convierta en el actual “Centro Cultural Sureda”.
