Según un proyecto de ley aprobado en el mes de diciembre por la Legislatura porteña, habrá al menos once parques de la ciudad de Buenos Aires que incorporaran baños públicos. De esta forma se brindará un nuevo servicio tendiente a revertir el déficit de esta necesidad en sitios de acceso público y concurrencia masiva.
El proyecto contempla la colocación de baños de uso público en espacios verdes de la Ciudad que tengan una superficie superior a las tres hectáreas, donde hay importante concurrencia de vecinos. Quedarían entonces comprendidos, en el barrio de Caballito, el Parque Centenario, Parque Rivadavia y Plaza Irlanda.
Los proyectos fueron presentados por los legisladores María Rosa Muiños, del bloque Peronista, y Diego García Vilas, de Vamos Juntos. Desde el gobierno porteño se mostraron de acuerdo con esta iniciativa, comprometiendo el acompañamiento.
Los sanitarios deberán estar equipados con inodoro, puertas con sus respectivas trabas de seguridad , indicación de libre u ocupado, y gancho para ropa. Mientras que en el área de lavabo se colocarán dos lavamanos, dosificador de jabón, portatoallas de papel, basurero, espejo y cambiadores para niños tanto en baños masculinos como femeninos, o bien en un área accesible para ambos sexos. También contarán con cartelería en Braile.
