(PBA) El complejo ambiental Ensenada de la Coordinación Ecológica Área Metropolitana Sociedad del Estado (Ceamse) empezó a generar energía eléctrica renovable que se inyectará al sistema interconectado nacional. Sumando las dos plantas que ya producen biogás, más una nueva que se estaría por abrir en González Catán, se produciría energía verde para abastecer a 200.000 personas.
La planta de Ensenada es el resultado de un convenio entre la Ceamse y la firma Secco Renovar SA, adjudicataria del proyecto de generación de energía eléctrica a partir del biogás del relleno sanitario.
La Central Térmica Ensenada tiene una capacidad de 5 MW/h, a partir de fuentes renovables que optimizan el desempeño del complejo ambiental.

Según indicaron desde el organismo, primero se realiza la desgasificación y luego, mediante la combustión del gas en equipos motogeneradores, se crea energía eléctrica 100% verde a partir de una fuente renovable.
“La energía se vuelca al sistema interconectado nacional, por lo tanto, esta energía se puede consumir desde La Quiaca hasta Ushuaia”, explicó a La Nación el gerente de Nuevas Tecnologías de la Ceamse, Marcelo Rosso.
“El efecto es doble: reducís lo que haya a efectos de relleno sanitario y, por otro lado, evitás la quema de combustible fósil para generar energía eléctrica. Contribuye a mejorar la calidad del aire del entorno al complejo ambiental también”, agregó.
Los casos
Con esta central, ya son tres las plantas que operan en los complejos ambientales de la Ceamse y que aportan un total de 20 MW/h de energía eléctrica verde al sistema de interconectado nacional.
La cuarta será la Central Termoeléctrica González Catán, operada por Secco Energías Renovables, con otros 5 MW/h.

Cuando estén las cuatro en funcionamiento, 200.000 habitantes consumirán energía verde renovable proveniente del biogás de los residuos depositados en los rellenos sanitarios. Es decir: de la basura.
Para la planta de Ensenada se requirió una inversión de 6,5 millones de dólares. La construcción se demoró unos seis meses. Se firmó la adjudicación en abril del año pasado y empezó la construcción en junio.
“Es una buena noticia del lado de la generación de una energía renovable, pero que no nos haga olvidar el camino de la segregación de las fracciones utilizables y el uso de tecnologías sobre la fracción biodegradable, que son superadoras de los rellenos sanitarios”, indicó a La Nación Gustavo Zubizarreta, ingeniero de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y especialista en biogás por el Swedish Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.
El especialista aclaró: “Lo que está haciendo la Ceamse es bueno, mejor que generar quemando combustibles fósiles, pero hay cosas superadoras. Que no quede la idea de que es bueno enterrar todos los miles de toneladas diarias de basura y luego generar energía”. NR
