Según la Cámara Argentina de Industrias Ópticas y Afines (Cadioa), cada verano se comercializan 2 millones de anteojos y 1 de cada 5 no cumplen las normas. Aquellos que se dediquen a las actividades de fabricación y/o importación de anteojos para sol en la Argentina tendrán 180 días para adecuarse a la medida.
Esta prescripción busca paliar “el riesgo para la salud que implica el uso de anteojos para sol sin controles sanitarios”. Por eso, en la disposición explican: “Si bien la mayor parte de la radiación nociva que proviene del sol es absorbida por la atmósfera, a la superficie terrestre llega un nivel de radiación ultravioleta capaz de causar daños oculares irreversibles”.
