(PBA) El intendente de La Plata, Julio Garro, anunció la creación de la Secretaría de Asistencia a las Víctimas y Políticas de Género que estará a cargo de Carolina Píparo, quien trabajará ad honorem ya que continuará en su banca como diputada provincial.
Según informó el municipio, el intendente decidió fusionar dos áreas de Gobierno -la Dirección de Asistencia a la Víctima y la Dirección de Políticas de Género– «con el objetivo de trabajar de forma integral en la asistencia y apoyo a las víctimas de delitos como de violencia de género».

Para ello decidió que ese nuevo cargo lo ocupe Píparo, la mujer baleada en el 2010 en una salidera bancaria en La Plata cuando estaba embarazada de ocho meses y debió ser sometida a una cesárea de urgencia de la que nació su hijo Isidro, quien murió una semana después.
«Es un orgullo poder ser parte y aportar desde mi lugar porque muchas víctimas hoy ya acuden a mí porque saben lo que viví. Creo que es importante poder trabajar en consonancia con el eje puesto en la víctima; queremos que haya una atención integral hacia ellas, poder colaborar para que el área sea cada vez más integral, ese es el camino a seguir», dijo Píparo.

Garro sostuvo que como municipio «estamos trabajando muy fuerte en la prevención del delito, con la incorporación de tecnología y equipamiento en seguridad, como lo demostramos con la creación del Centro de Operaciones y Monitoreo y la instalación de 680 nuevas cámaras HD».
«Pero creemos que eso solo no alcanza; por eso decidimos dar un paso más y trabajar de forma integral en la atención y asistencia para quienes son víctimas de algún tipo de delito y el compromiso, la experiencia y vocación que ha demostrado tener Carolina (Píparo) en esto creemos que va a ser muy importante para la ciudad», sostuvo.
