Según información oficial, el chofer estaba a punto de finalizar su jornada y a unas 12 cuadras de la terminal, delincuentes armados se subieron al transporte público y lo amenazaron para robarle.

El colectivero intentó impedir el robo y el forcejeo con los ladrones, el arma se disparó y la bala lo hirió al chofer en la mano izquierda. El impacto tuvo entrada y salida en el parabrisas del colectivo.
